    Create

    Create

Why do I tend to create?
The extreme realities in my head
    From thinking I am invincible
To, I’d be better off dead

    I take something I crave
    And let it consume me
    Confusing what is real
    Blinding me to see

But what I see is abnormal
    Reading people like a book
    Gestures, faces, body language
The way you say it and how you looked

    Analyzing everything thrown at me
Never giving trust a chance to set in
    Making everyone around me
    A situation I can’t win

    My emotions are so strong
I can change anyone I’m around
You’ll sense what I am feeling
    I won’t have to make a sound

    If I could only control
    The thoughts in my head
    My life would be easier
    Than everything I just said

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
