    Endless Reign

I stand outside in the pouring rain...

    peering through the darkened clouds...

my heart still beating amidst the pain...

    cloaked by my metal shrouds...

    Happiness dwells upon this land...

    somewhere for me to find...

yet still it is here I stand...

by my own demons captured and confined...

they hold my soul in a glass bottle...

as I desparately struggle to break free...

my temper finally reaching full throttle...

but it's useless because I'm still me...

    my strength has been sapped...

so much so that glass I cannot break...

so I am resigned to sit here trapped...

and feel my sobbing heart ache...

    insanity approaches quickly...

    as the whisperings continue...

    they begin consuming me...

until in this reality I haven't a clue...

my mind and body are exhausted....

I feel as though I've been slain...

here I am, my life wasted...

as Depression continues its' endless reign...

You are never trapped when words can set you free.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
