    Fields of Clover

    Stripped of family
    more enemies than friends
    moving through this world
    so broken, never to mend

    See the little song bird
    with clipped wings
    locked in a decorative cage
    no joy left to sing

    What does this all mean?
    can't awaken from this horrible dream
    just turn this tired body over
    dreaming of endless fields of clover
    to bury me under

    How can anyone just give up?
    where are all the witnesses
    telling them to shut the hell up?
    life is a series of hit or misses
    sure to foul up anyone's precious wishes

    Keep telling yourself
    this will all surely pass
    this cup is never half empty
    just bits and pieces of broken glass

    So what does it all really mean?
    frustrated to the point I want to scream
    never ending,repeating over and over
    dreaming of endless fields of clover
    feeling older, hopeless and colder

    Oh Oh - I see your up to it again - You posted quite a few new ones . I'll try to get to them all. This one is another deep and emotional poem - I like this a lot - the metaphors and flow are great. Nice Work!
