    Forsaken

    Forsaken

    Time runs silent,
    following along infinite shores.
I feed my soul with pity,
    for I am forsaken.
I weep like the desert—no more tears will fall.
My heart even has rooms that sigh with dust.
My weary eyes are drawn toward evening,
    where night covers me
like dark clouds on a day of dismal thunder.
    I look to the heavens
and count the stars in its fathomless abyss.
I am bound by its infinite eternal.
    Yet, strangely…it gives me bliss,
and I laugh at my pain, because bliss is new to me.
Dew drinks the light of a cold moon,
till morning opens the eastern sky.
I have forgotten what I thought then—
Too late, too far...something of the sort.
I was still listening as I lay there motionless.
    Then, slowly...I went away.
