Friends Are Few And Far Between

    Through out my time
    Upon this earth
    Mostly on my own
    And frightened
    Not many hearts
    Have I embraced
    Nor many wrongs
    I've rightend
    Friends are few
    And far between
    On one hand
    Sure, I could count them
    For trustworthy folk
    Are hard to find
    Still, it's harder yet
    To keep them.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
