    full wolf moon
    shadows at the edge of reason
    pacing
    howling into the lonely sanctity
    of the deep winter
    howling
    usually fat and full
    feeling the cold is unfamiliar
    scared of this leanness
    searching for anything
    to sustain life
    burrowing deep under the snow
    finding fuel
    for their starving souls
    just enough
    to last
    through the full wolf moon

    This is really good T. I still like The Red Horse, and Growing up Stupid... but this a close second for me. Winter poems... Of course there is nothing I can tell you to improve... you style is impeccable- you have talent coming out your ears.

    Flint Edged Moon/// You Ghost Walk at the cliffs edge with understanding;/ balanced on a perch / the moan inside the wind around stones/ is sacred to the coldness./ The heart wants to wander into nothingness/ to find the lost fog/ from a slow expelled breath into the thin air./ That calm place/ will reveal the perfection that you're still alive./ Just enough joy/ comes packaged inside such a grasped moment/ to uplift the eyes/ into the night sky to find the moon staring back—/ a round mirror/// Thanx train, I love it when a poem gives me epiphany.
