Gone
I sing alone
Down where the ocean meets the shore
I saw you fly
The green of your eyes is no more
Did you fly home?
Where the sunrise never ends?
You are no more
The sweetest dream I'll ever know has gone, descends
I sing alone
Feeling the sand slip through my hands
The day has grown
Cold rain falls fast in rippling bands
Tears fall unknown
Upon the grey-green sea, I fall
I mean to roam
Until I find that place where you will hear my call
I sing alone
Someone is buried in the sand
I know her name
She left to me her wedding band
I cannot blame
The sea, it took her lover
She left in pain
Her sad embrace was warm like no other
I sing alone
Where is that world up in the sky?
Where have you gone?
The golden-green of your sweet eye
Has turned to stone
But I must try to find you
Where do you lie?
Far from this deep, deep sea of green and grey and blue
Down where the ocean meets the shore
I saw you fly
The green of your eyes is no more
Did you fly home?
Where the sunrise never ends?
You are no more
The sweetest dream I'll ever know has gone, descends
I sing alone
Feeling the sand slip through my hands
The day has grown
Cold rain falls fast in rippling bands
Tears fall unknown
Upon the grey-green sea, I fall
I mean to roam
Until I find that place where you will hear my call
I sing alone
Someone is buried in the sand
I know her name
She left to me her wedding band
I cannot blame
The sea, it took her lover
She left in pain
Her sad embrace was warm like no other
I sing alone
Where is that world up in the sky?
Where have you gone?
The golden-green of your sweet eye
Has turned to stone
But I must try to find you
Where do you lie?
Far from this deep, deep sea of green and grey and blue
