Her Majesty
She walks the road her mother walked
Well traveled, though it seems
The only other person walking
Down this road is me
She stops to take a turn to see
The kamikaze leaves
It seems even they hate her
for doing nothing, simply being
Her gaze goes far into the east
Yet it sees no rising sun
She's lost in though of life before
This ending had begun
Her mother's voice, carried by wind
drove her to be the best
Her looks, her brains, her wit
No matter. She surpassed the rest
The king had chosen her
She cried "Isn't this enough?"
Her mother's voice replied
"You have to earn my love"
The kindly man who was the king
Was poisoned by his wife
Her step-child led into the woods
Hopefully ending her life
And yet, it seems, this poor old wretch
Still was evaded by
A princess, beautiful enough
To make her mirror cry
Her Majesty had tried and failed
To win her mother's heart
So many years had passed since then
But the Queen refused to part
So here she wanders, down this road
Between our world and the next
Longing to redeem herself
From fairy-tales faded text
Well traveled, though it seems
The only other person walking
Down this road is me
She stops to take a turn to see
The kamikaze leaves
It seems even they hate her
for doing nothing, simply being
Her gaze goes far into the east
Yet it sees no rising sun
She's lost in though of life before
This ending had begun
