frozen
This metal breaching flesh
embracing my true self
through dehumanizing means
He says I'm closed to him
my heart, the only thing untouched
by the metal that has pierced all else
How can he accept me
He can't see all of me
He is blind to what is in front of him
He turns a cold eye away from me
I stand, frozen in fear
His words Ice, my prison
Through pain of the flesh
I can numb pain of the soul
How else can I explain to him?
I can't.
Everything in me I wear for all to see
How he analyzes it is up to him.
Embittered, I keep going
More metal, more pain
Numbing everything
Though his words still burn
Branded deeper than soul
They echo in this prison of ice
His words scar and bleed me dry
Acceptance is all I ask
Not so much from someone
Who claims to love all of me
Yet it seems impossible
To breach his frigid heart
It will burn like me before I'm gone
embracing my true self
through dehumanizing means
He says I'm closed to him
my heart, the only thing untouched
by the metal that has pierced all else
How can he accept me
He can't see all of me
He is blind to what is in front of him
He turns a cold eye away from me
I stand, frozen in fear
His words Ice, my prison
Through pain of the flesh
I can numb pain of the soul
How else can I explain to him?
I can't.
Everything in me I wear for all to see
How he analyzes it is up to him.
Embittered, I keep going
More metal, more pain
Numbing everything
Though his words still burn
Branded deeper than soul
They echo in this prison of ice
His words scar and bleed me dry
Acceptance is all I ask
Not so much from someone
Who claims to love all of me
Yet it seems impossible
To breach his frigid heart
It will burn like me before I'm gone
