"I Pretend"

I whisper of things which I do not know…

Never knowing of which I feel…

I pretend in confusion to hold in my heart…

To value this which I have never had…

Never shown how by another…

I experience confusion in what I feel…

All that I have had is broken…

All that I have started seems to die…

He is not my father for he disowned me…

She could not be a mother never knowing how…

Told of hate and molded by their misfortunes…

I crawl to the darkness not to be seen…

I whisper of things which I do not know…

Love unrequited and tossed to the side…

He is gone as she is passed…

And I still whisper in darkness

Stephenmichael…(11.22.10)

This writing is of pain…For I never knew either of them…

Mother or father…Never knew of their love.

How can I.

we are all broken here Stephen, but you know this. You are not alone in the pain. I've missed your writes - they touch me.

great poem written from a place of feeling left out and rejected............of being tossed aside..........that doesnt mean you can't feel love....just let go and allow your self to feel it

Why is it that those who don't know can often speak far more eloquently from ignorance that others can from knowledge? Harv

You carry a load too great for a man, even a helpmate can't take it all away. Your heart always shows my friend, others that know or have known love ... tear with you. You are loved by many, pretend no longer, thanks for sharing k

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
