Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem to illustrate how things in our world fall and as a result we experience good and bad feelings. Yet, we must always remember when we watch and pay close attention to how and why things fall, we are rewarded by learning the beauty of life.

I Watched

I watched my mom's,
Black hair fall out,
To be replaced;
With strands of gray.

I watched a bird,
Fall from the tree,
But did not hit;
The frozen ground.

I watched my dad,
Fall out of love,
Then left my mom;
Now he is gone.

I watched grandpa's,
Loose teeth fall out,
He then had all;
Of them pulled out.

Today I saw,
Some tree-leaves fall,
They made the ground;
So beautiful!!!

Contentment opens up the heart to the world at large. This is a great poem that through the struggle the joy is still found. This is the divining of spirit for the joy of life. Wonderfully done. A Poet friend// RH Peat
