Poem Commentary

I was inspired to write this poem after seeing the two most gorgeous swans together. Every part of me wanted to believe that these two swans were either married or the best of friends. They were so aware and in tune with each other ... when one would move so would the other. As I sat and watch them, it was easy to become a little envious of them. I could feel and I appreciated the closeness between the two.

One Day Soon

Today I saw,
Two black swans,
Together in the pond.

It was such,
A pretty scene,
I thought about you and me.

Wouldn't it be,
A beautiful thing,
If you were here with me.

Paddling across,
This pretty pond,
As the sun begins to set.

Yes I know,
That it would be,
A lovely thing to share.

One day soon,
I'm hoping that,
This dream will all come true.

Sweet to eye and nurturing to the heart. The simplicity adds value to the flow. Another wonderful piece, indeed.

Thank you, JadeMelissa74, for your encouraging comment. In all of my poems I'm on a crusade to say MUCH with AS LITTLE WORDS as I possible can. If you knew me, you would know (for me); that is quite a challenge :). (((Huge Hug)))

The Promise is alive and well. When love is shared the dream of the world is lost within the dream of love. This is a grand poem for it looks forward into the new dream/ yes this a swan song for sure. I like it a lot. It's simple but says so much about being in love. You are conjoined when you are even apart. A poet friend// RH Peat

Thank you, so very much, for your lovely comment. While composing, as well as, each time I read this poem, I hear the melody of '1000 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall'. I loved writing this poem, it was, definitely, on a 'perfect day' and I wanted desperately to savor as much of 'it' as I possibly could :).

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
