    Poem Commentary

Probably my favorite song ive ever written. I wrote this when i had a crush on a girl and i realized in truth, that because of certain issues it wouldnt work out. It was hard writing this song because i wasnt sure HOW to write somethin like this or put the right words to use. Anyway, enjoy and check out my other work!

    peace,

    If Only For A Moment

    If only for a moment
It was more than a dream
I'd hold you close beside me
    But in truth it seems
    That it could never be
    More than a dream

    If only for a moment
    It was all for real
I'd feel inclined to tell you
    The way i feel
    For you, but until then
    I can only dream

But who says dreams cant come true?
And oh what the power of love can do

    If only for a moment
    It were true
    If only for a moment
    I'd be with you

It's good, but stretch. This is the beginning. We have all been there and . . .unfortunately, it has already been said. Make your poems new, fresh and alive; not old and dead. Do you understand? We all fall into this, but move on to new frontiers of expression about love. It can be new imagery or new contrasts, but make it new. I am a fan of rhyme - some are not - but I am not a fan of words that are tired - like "dream" as a verb. This is timeless stuff you have written. Which means, it is time to move on. You have the ability to pave new ground.

Wow teen angst. I know it when I see it as I have 3 teens. Well written. Clear, concise and it flows good work

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
