If Tomorrow matters
If tomorrow starts without me,
And I’m not there to see,
The sun will rise, the birds will sing,
But it won’t be the same for us .
The morning dew will kiss the earth,
The sky will glow in hues of dawn,
But in the quiet of your heart,
A piece of me will still live on.
Remember not the tears we shed,
Nor the sorrow that you bear,
But think of all the joys we shared,
The moments when we didn’t care.
If tomorrow finds you lonely,
With a shadow by your side,
Know that I’m the gentle breeze,
The whisper when you cried.
So when you wake to greet the day,
And I’m not there to hold,
Just close your eyes and feel the warmth,
Of memories that never grow old.
If tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
