Light of Hope
one day,
just like any other,
the mind wanders,
together the tears flow,
each bearing their own pain,
like a cross,
no distance too far,
but the shoreline,
keeps getting smaller,
this simple life raft I hang onto,
sprung a leak,
fading slowly into the big deep blue sea,
would be easy to stay,
let the darkness swallow,
smile slowly spreads,
my arms move,
with a mind of their own,
towards the surface they pull,
slowly at first,
dragging with no will,
finding a strength from unknown,
coming out of a dream,
patching my raft,
making a sail,
setting sail,
to the first two stars on the right,
comfortably numb wrapped around my heart,
until a light catches my eye,
is that the shore?
the light catches my breath this time,
holding on tightly,
then releasing;
my course is set,
whatever holds,
light leads my way,
into the future I sail.
just like any other,
the mind wanders,
together the tears flow,
each bearing their own pain,
like a cross,
no distance too far,
but the shoreline,
keeps getting smaller,
this simple life raft I hang onto,
sprung a leak,
fading slowly into the big deep blue sea,
would be easy to stay,
let the darkness swallow,
smile slowly spreads,
my arms move,
with a mind of their own,
towards the surface they pull,
slowly at first,
dragging with no will,
finding a strength from unknown,
coming out of a dream,
patching my raft,
making a sail,
setting sail,
to the first two stars on the right,
comfortably numb wrapped around my heart,
until a light catches my eye,
is that the shore?
the light catches my breath this time,
holding on tightly,
then releasing;
my course is set,
whatever holds,
light leads my way,
into the future I sail.
