A talk with Life

Right Life;
We've had this dance;
We've had this talk;

I've told you once,
and I'll tell you again.
You can hit me with everything you got;

Because no matter,
No matter how hard you hit;
I will always get back up;

More determined than ever;
You cannot beat me,
You cannot best ME;

For I am the master of my life;
Not you;
Take my things,

My friends;
My family;
But you cannot take me;

For I will never surrender;
Nor will I ever quit;
Not in this lifetime or next.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
