Midnight
The wind rolls in along with the tide
pitch black is what lies ahead
with not even the starry night to shed some light
into the night I go,
Daring and quick do I leap into the blackness
like a child with curiosity
with two hands I hold my innocence down this dangerous way
I leap boldly to my dying day,
The sand quivers beneath my bare feet
the wind roars with excitement
as I overcome each black mass that crosses my path
I do not stray,
The blinding light is in my sight
I pick up my speed and resist the restlessness
I am in arms reach to my eternal peace
but then what do I see,
Behold a midnight rose
so rare with beauty the sweet aroma surrounds me
My senses run amok
and I lose sight of my blinding light,
I am lost within the waves looking up at my midnight sky
my two hands as empty as the sky above
no starry night, no midnight rose, not even a name
as I step foot into the endless black night.
pitch black is what lies ahead
with not even the starry night to shed some light
into the night I go,
Daring and quick do I leap into the blackness
like a child with curiosity
with two hands I hold my innocence down this dangerous way
I leap boldly to my dying day,
The sand quivers beneath my bare feet
the wind roars with excitement
as I overcome each black mass that crosses my path
I do not stray,
The blinding light is in my sight
I pick up my speed and resist the restlessness
I am in arms reach to my eternal peace
but then what do I see,
Behold a midnight rose
so rare with beauty the sweet aroma surrounds me
My senses run amok
and I lose sight of my blinding light,
I am lost within the waves looking up at my midnight sky
my two hands as empty as the sky above
no starry night, no midnight rose, not even a name
as I step foot into the endless black night.
