    My Son Steven

    8-11-08 Written by Laura Perez

    MY SON STEVEN

My first born child I named Steven,
He was such a beautiful bundle of joy.
For my first experience of a piece of Heaven,
I thank you God for my brown-eyed baby boy!

After I went through 10 1/2 hours of labor,
I wanted to hold him and count fingers and toes.
Hey there doctor, please do me one big favor,
Can you hand me my baby with his cute little nose?

We waited while they cleaned and wrapped him.
I stretched out my arms, but to my dismay,
They took my baby and just kept walking away!
As my heart fluttered, the lights seemed to go dim!

Dear God,Please don't let anything be wrong
with my beautiful baby boy named Steven!
Lord, I have waited so very long,
for my beautiful little piece of Heaven!

As it turned out, he was just fine!
He was a little cold and a little blue,
But after he was warm he was ready to dine.
Steven was snuggled and happy, and we were too!

What a wonderful loving piece of work. The anticipation runs high. Had my heart sinking there for a moment. You carried me with you. Keep up the good works

Thankd! I am glad you liked it!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
