Paradigm Shift

Paradigm Shift

I reach deep within
And find this need,
To thank you, Lord
For all I see.

As the soft wind
Blows this breeze,
I can't help but fall
Upon these knees.

My heart cries-
Not from these scars,
But the water sparkling
Like a thousand falling stars!

My soul soars high-
When a moment ago...
I prayed to die.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
