Prisoner of Love?
These four walls crowded around my empty soul,
Like a prisoner captured by your words of bold.
Why must you act as if you are my master?
As you fight off a sickness of frivolous disasters.
My heart is heavy as I live day to day,
While you issue your orders to do it your way.
Stinging with pain as deep as my heart,
With your hurtful words and ways. . . just a part.
These lonely and dark days will come to an end,
When I tell him, "Leave!" and we make amends.
I only pray at night that the nightmare will end,
And instead of being a prisoner. . . I will be me once again.
