So Here It Lies

    So Here It Lies

At the moment it lies beneath the flesh
The rhythms pulse slow but never rests

This spirit so distressing can never heal
For this heart loves him so and forever will

A guess that I'll never possess that chance
To have him solely with just a moments glance

Grant me one wish for my dispirited soul
Before you what ails me shall take its toll

So to breath I struggle on my way,
And endure each sorrow along the way.

But nothing can ever compare to the end
A tear from a shattered heart caused by a friend.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
