    Promise me Mom

So many people have told me it was your time to go.
I didn't want to believe it, I didn't want it to be true.

What am I to do without you by my side? Just thinking about it, I begin to cry.

It rips my heart apart, and puts a burden on my soul.
Knowing that you'll be gone, and be with God for an eternity.

When your laid to rest, when will I see you again?
Will your love for me still be in your hand?

Will you still hold that locket of gold, and remember me when your an angel?

Will you look down on me and guide my steps? Watch me through my every move?

Please promise me you'll never forget your youngest daughter and your little Angel!!

Dedicated to my mom before her passing in 2002

This made me sad but was very nicely written, keep up the good work and God bless you.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
