The Agreement

The Agreement

The sun won't shine on a day such as this
For the world is torn apart.
Two people are burdened by a wrong doing
And nothing will be able to bring them together.
Two lovers feud throughout the day.
Two hearts being harshly broken.
The memory will live forever
Always causing trouble and pain.
Will there be an end to this madness?
Will the world ever be whole again?
We must ask ourselves on this day
What must be done to unite us again?
One can't be forced to forgive
The other can only apologize so much.
They must come to an agreement
Though they will forever be hurting.
There is only one choice to be made
And it rests on the mans shoulders.
For the woman he loved so much
Is no longer the one he used to know.
Only this man can bring them together.
It is his choice he will have to make.
Does this man want this woman,
Or will they remain forever in silence??

Shades of the Beatles "We Can Work It Out" I hope manipulation isn't an enabled pattern by now. Or was this happening to "a friend?"

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
