    Sensory

The diamonds beckon as they ripple across the water,
    Whispering, taunting, glimmering.
And as I gaze mesmerized, I feel the nearness of you
caressing me like a wave of a breeze,
Glowing embers flowing from within your heart
    Shimmering all around me.
I am electrified by the scent of you and it clings to me
just as sticky pollen from a fragrant flower clings to the
tiny feet of a honey bee while it feeds hungrily on the sweet
nectar. I burrow my face, my body deeply into your chest
inhaling all the reality of you, savoring ahhhh savoring,
nurturing the moment, the now, and with white intense
heat I brand the happening into the far depths of my heart,
my soul, my memory, never forgetting what is and yet so
afraid of what the raw experience of us could be, along with
feeling tantalized by the danger of it.
As I slowly open my eyes, still holding, still inhaling your
essence, I behold the trees swaying in the breeze, the diamonds
rippling, sparkling, and forever promising this moment is
ours always, never ending, will continue to beckon as the
sun brightly shines, giving this moment an eternity all
    it's own........................................................................................
In the distance of time, I will experience you again as I
breathe deeply, I awaken the memory, coaxing the moment
to the surface and luxuriate in the luscious passion of a
fragment in time when the diamonds beckon and thrill me
all over again with drenched anticipation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very well written poem, from the inner you. Your heart + soul, fill this poetic story, from the first word, to the exclamation point. Thank you for sharing.

So amazingly vivid and alive with emotion... I could actually "feel" it.. Excellent job

You gave my the most ultimate compliment a writer can receive!!! It is a superlative goal each of us as writers to achieve is that our readers can "feel" what we are trying to express. Many thanks!! Deb.

comes across as emotionally illustrative prose more than poetry, but some of the imagery is good

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
