    She

She walks in with a look that kills
and siezes control of the night
(her back to me in grace)
    Businesslike, yet innocent,
    She pleases others to live,
(An angel dressed in shimmering silk,)
and She delivers whatever they ask.
(Edged in lace and glowing light)
    her cold heart thrives ~
    gathering life from nameless others.
    (Her sins are innocent.)

Oh, to have innocent sin - often intentions are spent with knowing care left for others to sit in judgment as to decide the right from wrong... I like that this was written with an openness for interpretation.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
