Suicide It's No Joke
Suicide – what does it really mean?
To most people, it’s just the taking of one’s life.
They can never understand the struggle and the fight.
That it can be for those who live with it every day and every night.
They are seeking peace and rest for their mind.
An escape from the feelings of worthlessness and –
torment they feel all the time.
No one who’s never been there can really understand.
How hard it can be to fight. Just to put it in God’s hands.
Satan sees our weakness and it his ultimate goal.
To try and tempt a child of God, an possibly steal their soul.
You would have to feel the darkness; it crushes your chest.
It tries to push away all the good thoughts you have about yourself.
Sometimes you get tired of fighting it time after time.
So you just lay there and let the darkness take your mind.
Satan tries to convince you how peaceful it would be.
Just to lie down, close your eyes and forever go to sleep.
Each time it happens I just pray for God to give me strength.
I pray that this won’t be the time that Satan finds me weak.
I may have to pray all through the night.
It’s never easy, but with God beside me I will wake to see the morning light.
Jesus is my strength. With him I’ll keep up the fight;
Someday I’ll win this endless battle with Satan for my life.
