    CALL ME ANGEL

    You thought I was an Angel, who’d crashed to earth someway.
    You’d’ pick up the broken pieces, patch my wings for both of us.
    You soon came to love me in a sweet and tender way.
    You prayed I was an Angel that God had sent to stay.
    You wrapped your love around me, like the sweetest of love songs.
    You thought I was an Angel, I could do no wrong.
    Well, Angels come from Heaven and that’s where they belong.
    Not hear on earth reading you this poem.
    But, if Angels where among us, then I know one would be you.
    For there is a special kind of magic in everything you do.
    From the sweet smile on your lips, to the soft stroke of your hands;
    To the way your eyes light up with love, each time you see me again.
    Well now you know I’m only human and that’s something I can’t change.
    But, the true love I feel for you remains just the same.
    So I hope you’re not too disappointed because I’m human after all.
    But, you can still call me Angel and I’ll always return your call.

    Ohhhh...you got me! This is the sweetest poem I've read in a long time. When I use the word "sweet" I usually mean something less. but here, my dear, is a writing that is genuinely sweet... and the form's good too!

    Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
