Tears Of My Soul

Tears Of My Soul

I remember so dear

the days of old

As down my face

the tears do roll.

I’ve tried so hard

to put things to rest,

But I continually fail

my hearts biggest test.

So vivid the visions,

So fresh is the pain;

Am I never to feel

whole again.

Over and over in

my mind go,

The memories that cause

the tears of my soul.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
