Thanks for Giving

Mayflower set sail

Leaving its trail

Upon demand

To another land

Autumn, past

Pilgrims fast

Landing wetly

Sixteen twenty

Willing, able

Friends at table

Reaching Cape Cod

Gave thanks to God

Indians hunt

Pilgrims the same

New times were blunt

Preparing game

Friends allowed

All were proud

Much to trade

History made

They all knelt down to pray

Naming Thanksgiving Day
