The Cutter

The day hasn't gone quite as planned

You grasp the handle tightly in your hand

There is nothing like this familiar feeling

The nostalgia of it all leaves you reeling

As the cold steel touches your arm

And the blood runs out damp and warm

Nothing else seems to matter

The only sound a dripping blood splatter

As the bleeding begins to cease

You finally feel a little at peace

pain hurts, I don't under stand this. This seems to be a girl thing. Maybe it takes ones mind off of small problems when your lifes blood is going down the drain.

whenever i read a piece with content it makes me cease up alittle... i have been on the wrong side of the blade far too many times... i can vividly remember the euphoric feelings of relief when i achieved the release i was looking for... you described it perfectly here... please be careful and take care of yourself

I know how this feels... This is a great write. Very well written, with a lot of imagery. Leaves me blood thirsty. ;) Awesome!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
