The Dance of Introspection
Toss away the key of keys...the shiny one upon thy ring...
and no more will I be in thee...
and thee in I no more will be...
Shut thine eyes thy lids the canvass...
paint upon them portrait beauty...
a face angelic fire and salt...
to burn forever the ember waltz...
till the ground and work a bit...
pass thy mortal years in purpose...
delve into the work of history...
blister hands that search the past...
I fast a day until the hunger...
reaches into all that's me...
I drink in all the daily wonder...
given to the one who's me...
teacher help me write a secret...
meant for ears the precious doors...
the windows hold the starlight sparkle...
shake my very soul at core....
Mothers many helping soothe...
the pained and hurt the child in all...
Father strict in all belief...
stability for when lost child calls...
the world a thorn of beauties discard...
take what's left in Mothers wake...
she'll shed enough to start anew...
to rise above the firey lake...
I shake my fist at stars no more...
their beauty long gone still in view...
the last of they that hold more worlds...
it's hard to know just what is true.
I search forever until the endless...
points me once again towards light...
I'll fight again the path I'm driven...
for shadows hate to dance the bright.
