    THE  FACE
    The face
    somewhat swollen
    as if deprived
    but not of sleep
    just holding back
    the agony
    watching love slip
    uttered
    not a sound.
    Is love never possessed
    only held momentarily
    until we think
    it's ours
    only to leave us
     abandoned again
    while others hearts swell
    with the prospect
    a false comfort
    as it touches them
    fills their hearts
    and slips away
    again and again
     until the nothingness
    devoid of all hope
    sings it's song
    and memory
    holds what is past?
    How cruel
    to be human
    and know 
    love

    Yes. How cruel to yearn to know that one can give love and never make that choice. A question of few answers, if any are adequate. You really know how to express your gut feelings!
