PUPPET MASTERS
As I sit here
warm and safe at home
ink running
from my pen
others
have another agenda
spilling blood indiscriminately
from mothers and children.
Their only escape
from this horror
an inevitable bullet
spilling their cries
their consciousness
their life's blood
into the soil
of their mother earth
who herself
is smothered by the carnage.
Their enemy isn't
a political ideology
it's a corporate think tank
the puppet masters
who created this addiction
this frenzied hunger
to blood letting
that won't be denied
its raw meat
while the task masters
divvy up
the land and resources
left behind
where death has stilled
yet another people
and corporate America.....
