Who are you?

  • So my friends wants me to write a poem about me and him...I haven't written in so long I don't know if I can just write on command like this. Any advice?

Who are you?

Who do you say that I am?

And who are you that you should have such a right?

You can only say what you see and what you know

But do you see me for all that I am?

Do you know me as even I don't know myself?

Who are you to say who I am?

To label me with ordinary terms used for unextraordinary descriptions

To call me as you think I should be called

To name me as you you believe I ought to be named

Who are you to say who I am?

Can I even say who I am?

I am extraordinary in so many ways

Yet average in just as many ways and lowly all around

Is this how you would've said that I am?

Is this how you see me?

Who do you say that I am?

And who are you that you should have such a right?

i am the one who sees it all... the timid scared boy..in this world but in your mind and your heart ,above all the rest...before they had even a chance to start not like you may think it to be parden me dear..for my insecurities..i loved you even when i screamed and yelled and meant it not when i did tell i told you to leave for simply confusion and despair... then when i was alone always i wanted you back and to be there.. not just a friend...i don't even wanna be friends i wanted your romance and love to never end who am i kidding and why do i fret... your gone forever must i forget? sorry hope it's not weird for this kind of feedback...it's just how i respond usually

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
