A Girl With a Rose

Poem Commentary

Inspired by the first really free elections in Armenia since 1998. So Velvet Revolution completed. And I saw a picture of a pretty young lady, who came to vote with a red rose in her hands.

A Girl With a Rose

Proud to be voting for the first time in Armenia, inside the building housing my kindergarten :))).
Armenia holds its first Parliamentary Elections after peaceful VelvetRevolution in May.  We have journalists and observers present from 40+ countries including Denmark. #armvote2018, #velvetrevolution, #proud, #historicday
This photo inspired this beautiful poem, thank you Ruben Ghafadaryan
Under permission by our incredible Tatevik Revazian I am sharing this song. Hope you will like it.
Revolution
I was so apathetic hiding myself behind a dyke
Stating that these ones had been worse than those.
So what re-evaluation does look like?
I don’t know… Maybe like a girl with a rose!
Sorry for my corns grown to stand your spikes.
Silent feeling can turn to a faith as soon as it goes.
So what the revelation does look like?
I don’t know… Maybe like a girl with a rose
Starting from my first song I still climb and hike
Looking for a love to seed and to see how it grows.
So what the resolution does look like?
I don’t know… Maybe like a girl with a rose.
I still have to rhyme one final crushing strike
To win the battle between the poetry and the prose.
So what the revolution does look like?
I don’t know… But is just a girl with a rose!

Very good, but it does not wrap together. I like the sentence maybe like a girl with a rose but everything else does not have the same feeling as this sentence.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
