A Victim to ther Flame

A Victim to ther Flame

A VICTIM TO THE FLAME

With a heavy heart I stand
Alone and still
Emptied to the marrow
Saddened to the core
Drowning in my sorrow
For a love that is no more

Whispered words of tenderness
All things I longed to hear
Oh how was I to know
They were but sincere

Intense the fire of loves desire
In passionate refrain
We tend to fall too easily
A victim to the flame

Shadows of you're sweet caress
In memory still remain
I shed a tear in silence
My heart cries out your name

But you're not here
Nor can you hear
My cries are but in vain
Though you have gone
The flame burns on
Till ashes but remain

Intense the fire of loves desire
In passionate refrain
We tend to fall too easily
A victim to the flame
