    An Arm's Length

An arm's length is all that I need
to touch your skin and feel you breathe.
An arm's length keeps me away
from knowing the man I think of each day.
An arm's length is all that I wish
to learn some truths to add to my list.
An arm's length is all you can do
yet I continue to melt into you.
An arm's length it couldn’t be clearer
still I pray to have you nearer.
An arm's length and 200 miles
that I would drive to see your smile.
An arm's length most wouldn’t endure
but I'll take a chance on the one I adore.

I can hear the longing of the main character of this poem. You have established the voice of the emotion well.

i know exactly how that feels. to love someone and have them so close but so far away. its really a bitter sweeet feeling. great writting.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
