    Scott's View

What do you see when you look through your lens?
Do you see a crazy world that suddenly makes sense?
Peace and the calm of forever falling snow
That stops you in your tracks and directs you where to go

How much zoom before it’s just too much
You stop to put your camera down and reach your hand to touch
The beauty of a flower swelled with pinks that seem surreal
Your tender whisper and some trust make everything ideal

Tell me in a thousand words just what your pictures say
Is every photo like a map to where you are today?
Life’s bounces, friends and family all make up your truth
Fast forward add some lines that till don’t hide your youth

Show me what you see from the lens that you look through
What I’d give for just a glimpse into your private view
Do you recognize the love of a true friend?
A single-threaded heart that no one else can bend

Do you take a picture only your heart can understand?
Does it ever cross your mind, that give that’s in your hands?
With one finger and a push, you stop the Earth from spinning
And you capture that one moment of an end or a beginning

Great write! Seeing through another artist's eye...We get to enjoy this through each others creativity...You were in deep thought and it shows your ability to see past the obvious...

I wrote an essay on Frost's "Road less traveled" recently and originally entitled it a frosty lens. I changed it to cataract, but you metaphor is poignantly profound and resonates with my philosophy. This piece also reminds me in a unique way, of Charles Dodgson.

What a lovely poem! It was very creative how you tied photography in with love;such beautiful imagery. You did a good job Wordsmith!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
