    This is one of my other reality moments of writing.

    By the Light of the Moon

    The velvet dark of night

    It caresses me like a lover

    I watch him by the light of the moon

    His hair is as a raven's wing

    Dark, but shining with blue flashes

    His eyes glow with the moon's light

    Slowly he comes closer

    I should be afraid, but I am not

    I gaze into his eyes

    I am warmed by the heat in them

    I reach out to encourage him on

    Softly, we touch by the light of the moon

    Hunger burning in his veins

    Need burning in my eyes

    Slowly we embrace each other

    The ecstasy of his bite

    The heat of my touch

    Feast on each other we do

    By the light of the moon

    We stop just in time

    Our eyes glazed, hearts thumping

    Slowly we break apart

    Only to know we will meet again

    By the light of the moon

    I like the way the power of the moon was invoked here, like the magic of 'witching hour' when it is said poets are at their best. In particular I like the mention of being not being afraid, but being aware that you should be, it makes for a good read and sparks a moment of thought afterwards. Good work!

    Thank you for reading my poem and I am glad that you enjoyed it. My Cherokee Grandfather taught me much about the power of the moon and the sun and to be aware of nature, not to fear her but to respect her and you will never know what amazing things will happen.
