Viking Lover
Come all you forsaken, take warning by meAnd don't take a lover who lives by the sea
They only hold true to their crew and ships
And nothing but lies ever passes their lips.
I once had a Viking lover, fair and fine
He swore that he loved me and was mine
But soon as the tide turned, his love paled
As soon as the wind rose, my love sailed.
I once had a Viking love, blue were his eyes
And all the vow's that he made me were lies
He came with the winter and left with the spring
As hard to hold as a bird on the wing.
I once had a Viking love, gold was his hair
So handsome a man that the angels would stare
So handsome without, so hollow within
The vow's that he made might never have been
The sea was his true love no other had he
I was just diversion to my Viking lad
So all you forsaken that warning by me
No mortal love can ever rival the sea.
