    Poem Commentary

The words of a 12 year old with her first love. Good thing our thoughts change as we get older! lol

    Today

    Today I found a coca-cola can,
    a half-eaten apple in a tumbleweed,
    a squished-up caterpillar, and you.

Considering all the things that I found
today and judging from the laughter
    and tear time with you,

I think finding you was better than
    the squished-up caterpillar.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
