Like An Eagle

Poem Commentary

This one is of a relationship gone bad and long gone

Like An Eagle

I once had wings like an eagle
Very high I once flew
The hand of the one I loved
Has battered those wings
Fly no more can I

My love and joy have flown away
I will love that hand always
Though it has hurt me so
I will for give it
Though loving it with broken wings

Yes, I am an eagle without wings

Yes, and heavy to be that eagle with out the wings. Thank you. Blessed Be

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
