    Can I Live

    The hurt and the pain
In my mind it shall remain
Like an explosion to the brain
    My heart becomes insane

    The abuse and the rejection
From the gaze of my reflection
All I wanted was your protection
With all the love and affection

I gave you all of me
But my greatness you would not see
You ignored my cries and pleas
And left my shattered and lonely

As the tears flow from my eyes
    My spirit slowly dies
From the rapture of your lies
A world of chaos, I must disguise

From the beginning of my creation
It was written in my revelation
Through all the trial and tribulation
    My reality became devastation

Lord I pray to you and believe
Your grace and mercy I will receive
I will not suffer, I will not grieve
For my life you will relieve

With all the blessings you have to give
All I ask of you is…..
    CAN I LIVE???

Wow...love the surprise ending...The rhyme creates beauty...

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
