  • My own two favorite poems are "Train of Defeat" and "The Story of Sorrow"

Comfort

At times when all is uncertain,
I can't help but turn to Him.
He chases off the demons
I created from within.
They are demons of recklessness and shame.
   Demons from the other side
that use His name in vain.
He offers me the strength
that is deep within my soul.
He gives me the confidence
to once again feel whole.
   My demons lay to rest
as He awakens me with love.
   It's a love like no other;
   it comes from Him above.
As I sit here and I ponder
what the end result will be,
I realize its my faith in Him
that controls my destiny.

Nice reflection of the one who's there when we feel abandoned.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
