Illusions Of My Marriage
My illusions of my marriagewere shattered today.
He said he had no memory
of times we laughed and played.
My illusions of my marriage
were way off base.
All the time I spent on love
turned out to be a waste.
My illusions of my marriage
were simply false.
He could have kept it to himself.
The wound had begged for salt.
My illusions of my marriage
kept me alone.
I thought he would return for me
and give me back my home.
My illusions of my marriage
were shattered today.
The figments of the voices scorned
have nothing left to say.
