My Heart
Be careful of my heart. It has been hurt before.
Poorly used and thrown out,
kicked from door to door.
It doesn't come equipped
with a kit to make repairs.
It cannot iron on a patch.
It does not have a spare.
Be careful of my heart.
It only knows to love.
If you treat it with respect,
you'll get what you dream of.
My heart will open wide,
taking all that you will give.
It will hold a place for you
as long as you shall live.
So if this heart of mine
is something you'll hold true,
I'll hand it over happily.
I'll give my heart to you.
