    Cry Baby Creek

They say when the time is right,
The moon is so high and shining bright,
There's a story you ought to tell,
Of cry baby creek and it's personal hell.

A maiden so beautiful and true,
Who caresses her child as she cries out to you,
While fleeing from an unfaithful lover,
Tragedy struck a child and its desperate mother.

Four headlights racing in the night,
An innocent babe crying in fright,
The deranged man gaining so fast,
The weary woman recalls the last hour that's past.

Her man she discovered to be untrue,
In desperation she cries "I'm leaving you",
He said he would kill her and her child before she made it out the door,
She hit him with a frying pan and ran out as he hit the floor.

She says " Hush my baby, please don't cry,
    We've said our final goodbye",
About a mile down the road,
She sees him coming and not very slow.

    She hit the gas,
They say she was already going to fast,
He hit her car and made her swerve,
Into the creek she went right over the curve.

    Slowly she came to,
The baby was motionless and blue,
She rushed and got it out of the car,
Onto the bank to begin c.p.r.

Frantically she worked with no response,
Suddenly she decided to take a chance,
She went up to the road not very far,
To flag down any passing car.

As cars approached and she came into sight,
Eyes flew wide with gore struck fright,
Gas pedals were pushed and pushed hard,
As folks rushed home with disbelief to the comfort of their own yards.

Will noone take pity she thought into the night,
She made a decision there in the moonlight,
She thought don't worry baby I'll be there soon,
Mommys coming to you by way of a muddy lagoon.

Into the creek she walked and her whole being sank,
She lay on the bottom and breathed and drank,
Whether this is true I think I'll never know,
But, that's the story and how it goes.

Maybe one day when the time is right,
The moon is so high and shining bright,
I'll investigate cry baby creek and its personal hell,
I'll witness for myself this story everyone tells.

    vivid nice work

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
