    Mommy

    Why am I so lonely,
Can you tell me that Mommy,
I tell myself when I cry at night,
My Mommy will come she just might.

    Mommy don't leave me again,
Please Mommy I have no friends,
Mommy take me with you tonight,
I promise I'll behave and be polite.

    Mommy who is that man,
Why are you holding his hand,
    Mommy where is Daddy,
Why hasn't he been to see me.

    I love you Mommy,
    Please don't go,
    I love you Mommy,
I just wanted you to know.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
