    What I feel about the state of the nation!!!!!

    ~Despair~

    Inches away from being homeless,

    As I watch the snow bounce off the windows,

    The window no longer reflects the cold as,

    Old man winter joins the inside of my house.

    No money for anything as I watch the trees dance,

    Lost everything I ever owned lost without a second chance.

    Stuck in a cold winter land as my hands start to freeze,

    Not really sure how much longer I can pound upon these keys.

    Nothing is for certain but the cold that bites my face,

    Lately I have been wishing I was not part of the human race.

    February freeze has kissed my cold darkened heart,

    Now I sit and ponder on how I need a new start.

    The winds blow there hardest the air is filled with chill,

    Only thing I wanted was to pay another bill.

    The state of the nation is no longer underhand,

    One out of six people here are starving.

    So we feed a foreign land.

    Whom here is going to feed us as are we strangers,

    In our home lands.

    We take up wars with countries that don’t even care,

    Why cant we help our own people who are cold,

    Why are we hungry as our fields are always full!

    I know about loosing eveything - Hurrican katrina, and the Government not helping - Hurricane Katrina - the first help we saw in St. Bernard was Canada. I made a SBA loan to buy a house and must pay it back, other countries don't - sorry - I am in total agrement with yuo - I hope yuor situtation gets better

    inkmaster, You have many viable points here that we Americans definitely complain about. Yet the powers that be see it another way and take care of what lines their pockets and suits their motives. ginga

    Jeff - Such a sad state of affairs you have penned here my friend. I pray that this is not a personal account for you and is a reflective piece on the issues so many face today. .. I hate our country's current state and pray that it turns around quickly and I pray for those who are enduring this tragic plight. This is a very powerful and painful write indeed. Made my eyes water. Ken

    Its true Ken I am to the point of being the homeless poet..There is no money in this state and I am having to face life in a despair type of way..I have to leave here in the next couple of days with my wife with no where as a destination but it needs to happen! Things are way out of control and there are not any second chances here..Thanks for the comment...Jeff
