Grief

In the car my daughter smiles while I myself am crying.

Hoping she could stay that way and not let life catch her sighing.

Will she accept her mother's fate of cancer taking her?

And will there be completion of grief? I'm praying it will occur.

So young and so very innocent, free to express her self.

May God deal with me severely, if she stores her emotions on a shelf.

I'm looking for something tangible to touch and hold and feel.

I imagine my wife next to me hoping it could be real.

But I know it's a race marked out for me that I must surely run.

So at the end of my life, I can hear His faithful words, “Well Done!”

"I do not always understand Why things happen as they do, But I am very sure of one thing. God will see me through." Your prayers have been heatd. May your loss be soon healed.

As I read your poem, sadness gripped my heart, as it went out to your child and you. God's blessings on you both!!! I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayer is that you allow God to soothe your soul. Even though things are hard, with time, things will get a little easier. Just have faith and keep praying. Let God work in you and through you. I would also like to invite you to share in my work. I want to dedicate four of my poems to your family and you (“An Eternity of Happiness"..."Be Strong"... "He's There For Us All" and ..."Jesus My All"). I hope that you all can fine a bit of comfort in them. Be blessed!!!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
